A One-Week Summer Program for High School Students
CARTI Discover is a job shadowing program designed for high school students interested in healthcare careers. Over one week, participants will explore different roles in cancer care, learn from professionals, and gain hands-on experience. Whether you’re interested in medicine, technology, research, business, or patient care, this program gives you a behind-the-scenes look at healthcare.
Program Details
- Dates: June 1-5, 2026
- Location: CARTI Cancer Center, Little Rock
- Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Who Can Apply?
Students must meet the following requirements to apply:
- Schools & Grade Level: Must be a rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at Jacksonville, Maumelle or Mills.
- GPA Requirement: Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Interest in Healthcare: Must have a passion for exploring healthcare-related careers.

Participants will select one of the following career tracks:
- Engineering
- Business Intelligence
- Pharmacy
- Surgical Tech
- Dosimetrist
- Radiation Therapy
- Imaging Tech
- Infusion RN
- Medical Oncology RN
- Surgeon
Scholarships & Capstone Project
At the end of the session, students will complete a Capstone Project based on their experience. All students will receive a $1000 scholarship upon successful completion of the program.
How to Apply
Applications must include:
- Personal Statement: Why are you interested in healthcare?
- Letter of Recommendation: From a teacher, counselor, or mentor.
- List of Achievements & Extracurricular Activities
- Transcript: To confirm GPA and grade level.
- Transportation Agreement: Students must arrange their own transportation. (Gas cards may be available.)
- Immunization Records & Code of Conduct Agreement
