Access to CARTI’s Leading-Edge Care Makes Conway a Draw

Pulse of Conway | August 2, 2024

Across the country, the race to attract new talent is fierce. Cities are attempting to lure and retain prospective residents by touting attributes like their affordable cost of living, good-paying jobs, cultural institutions and plentiful outdoor amenities. Today, perhaps more than ever, a thriving health care sector is at the top of the list for individuals considering a move.

Families don’t simply desire easily accessible health care. They want to ensure their loved ones will receive trusted, high-quality services. Thanks to multidisciplinary providers like CARTI, Conway consistently rises above the national competition in this area.

According to the latest U.S. Census data, Conway is Arkansas’s fastest-growing city among those with populations above 50,000 residents. Mayor Bart Castleberry believes this feat “demonstrates [the] community’s ability not just for growth, but for sustained growth.” As he said, it reiterates Conway’s commitment to “appeal not only to residents — but future residents.”

With CARTI’s opening of a second Conway location, the city has yet another item to add to its growing list of advantages. For years, residents have benefited from access to CARTI’s leading-edge medical and radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging and cancer genetics and risk management services at the CARTI Cancer Center at 2605 College Ave. The provider’s world-class team of experts sees local patients five days a week. CARTI offers appointments every Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and every Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 13,400-square-foot facility near the University of Central Arkansas.

On Tuesday, July 23, CARTI held a ribbon-cutting for its second Conway location, expanding its presence in the city and its statewide network. Located at 410 Denison St., directly across from its cancer center, the CARTI Clinic is dedicated to serving as a comprehensive care destination for those facing urologic concerns and related issues.

Current data estimates that nearly 20% of Americans are affected by urologic conditions. The National Institutes of Health notes how unaddressed issues, such as recurrent urinary tract infections and kidney stones, can significantly impair individuals’ ability to work and contribute to their local communities. The NIH also found that unresolved urologic conditions can adversely impact patients’ long-term quality of life.

That’s why, as part of its nearly 50-year commitment to making trusted care accessible, CARTI is stepping up to meet Conway’s rising demand for urologic services. As Christie Dumboski, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, nurse practitioner, recently said, “When dealing with discomfort or anxiety from urologic concerns, our patients want care to be available as close to home and conveniently as possible. Our new clinic in Conway will allow even greater access to CARTI’s trusted urologic services.”

At the CARTI Clinic, Dumboski will join Taylor Moore, M.D., a board-certified urologist, in offering leading-edge treatment for a wide range of urologic concerns, including stones of the ureter, kidney and genitourinary; prostate, impotence and erectile dysfunction; Peyronie’s Disease; epididymitis; orchitis; female-related urological issues; and cancer-related conditions of the bladder, testicles, kidney and prostate. If surgical intervention is needed, CARTI’s specialists can also perform urologic-focused procedures at the CARTI Surgery Center, approximately 30 minutes away in Little Rock.

When deciding whether to move to or put down roots in a new community, prospective residents want to know that high-quality health care services are easily and quickly available. Whether facing a cancer diagnosis or urologic concern, CARTI is dedicated to always being there to help.

With the CARTI Cancer Center and now the CARTI Clinic in Conway, the multidisciplinary provider is a draw in recruiting and retaining families who want to call the bustling city home.
