Cynthia S. Ross, MD, has worked with CARTI since 1989. She is certified by the American Board of Radiology, Therapeutic Radiology.

Dr. Ross graduated medical school from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Little Rock, in 1982.

She did an internship in Family Medicine at UAMS and a residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa.

Michael L. Talbert, MD, has been with CARTI since 1991 and is board certified through the American Board of Radiology, Therapeutic Radiology.

A 1985 University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences medical school graduate, Talbert completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

A 1989 graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., Bryan R. Imamura, MD, has worked with CARTI since 1999.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Imamura completed his residency in radiation oncology at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Wells completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Mark R. Storey, MD, has worked with CARTI since 2001. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology, Therapeutic Radiology, and is a 1996 University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences medical school graduate.

Dr. Storey, whose special interests are in prostate cancer and breast cancer, completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Therapeutic Radiology, and a native of China, Xiang Gao, MD, has been with CARTI since 2001.

A 1986 graduate of the Fujian Medical College in Fujian, China, Dr. Gao completed his radiation oncology residency at the Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.

His research activities include prostate cancer, breast cancer, and participation in national research protocols including RTOG, SWOG and GOG.

Ann Maners, MD, has been with CARTI since 1995. She is certified by the American Board of Radiology, Therapeutic Radiology, and is a 1980 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she also completed residencies in laboratory medicine and radiation oncology.

Dr. Maners’ research activities include participation in national research protocols including RTOG, SWOG and GOG.

Dr. Gardner joined CARTI's medical staff in 2007. Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Dr. Gardner graduated from medical school in 1982 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

He completed his residency at the University of Florida in the Division of Radiation Therapy. Dr. Gardner's research activities include breast cancer, head and neck cancers and prostate cancer.

A native of Puerto Rico, Jose Penagaricano, MD, (Dr. Pena to everyone at CARTI) has been at CARTI since 2000. Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Dr. Penagaricano graduated from medical school in 1992 at the Universidad Central del Caribe, School of Medicine, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

He completed his radiation oncology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, where he was chief resident.
Dr. Pena’s research activities include radiobiological response parameters in radiation therapy optimization, dose- and biologically-based Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, and helical tomotherapy.

Vaneerat Ratanatharathorn, MD

Vaneerat Ratanatharathorn, MD, (Dr. Vaneerat to everyone at CARTI) has worked with CARTI since 2000. A native of Thailand, she graduated in 1977 from Siriraj Medical School, Mahidol University, in Bangkok.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Radiation Oncology, she completed her residency at Harper Hospital, Wayne State University, Detroit.

Dr. Vaneerat’s research activities include bone metastases and prostate cancer.

Hassan Bashiri, D.M.D., M.S.

Hassan Bashiri, D.M.D., M.S., was CARTI’s first dentist from 1979 through 2004 and returned to CARTI in 2008. Dr. Bashiri graduated from the University of Tehran School of Dentistry in 1974 and obtained and M.S. in Radiology from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1981.

Dr. Bashiri’s certification includes:
-Certificate in Prosthodontics, University of Illinois College of Dentistry, Chicago, IL, 1975-1977
-Certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthetics, University of Pittsburg School of Dental Medicine, Pittsburg, PA, 1978-1979

Dr. Bashiri’s research activities include tomography of TMJ and oral and dental care of patients with cancer of the head and neck.
