For the past 40 years, the CARTI Auxiliary has been putting on one of the most spectacular fund-raising events in the state. Festival of Trees, a four day festival held November 18-21, 2015 at the Statehouse Convention Center, features beautifully decorated trees and offers some of the most unique special events for children and adults, such as Sugar Plum Ball, Festival of Fashion, Festival After Dark and Tux ‘N Trees, our black-tie event. Each year more than 4,000 people attend these events, and this year we are expecting to top those numbers. Since its inception, Festival of Trees has raised in excess of $6.5 million to support the mission of CARTI and provide direct financial support to the patients it serves. Annually, Festival funds have assisted:
- in the purchase of patient housing, transportation and pain medication;
- in providing emotional support programs and professional counseling for patients and family members;
- in offering outreach programs, including educational seminars and CARTI Kids, an ongoing pediatric survivor program.
